[Remote] Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will support revenue accounting and analysis for the company's B2C operations, partnering closely with the Senior Accounting Manager on financial reporting, compliance, audits, account reconciliations, and process improvements.ResponsibilitiesPrepare financial statements, reports, and supporting analyses in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Support B2C revenue accounting and monthly revenue calculationsPrepare journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses as part of the monthly and annual close processSupport audit and compliance activities through preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentationResearch technical accounting issues and assist with implementation of process improvementsIndependently manage workload and deadlines during peak accounting close periodsQuickly learn and navigate accounting systems, processes, and reporting tools with minimal supervisionMaintain proactive communication and collaborate effectively within a remote-first team environmentSupport special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as neededSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration4+ years of progressive accounting experience requiredHands-on experience with financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and compliance reporting requiredStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detailDemonstrated ability to work independently, adapt quickly to new systems and processes, and maintain accountability in a remote work environmentStrong sense of ownership, initiative, and follow-through, particularly during critical close periodsAbility to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentInterest in leveraging AI and automation tools to improve processes and drive efficienciesPublic accounting experience at a mid-tier or regional firm (e.g., RSM, BDO, Grant Thornton, or similar) strongly preferredCPA license preferredProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as Dynamics 365, NetSuite, or AS400BenefitsMedicalDentalVisionFlexible spendingGenerous paid time offSponsored volunteer opportunitiesA 401K with a company matchFree access to our online programsCompany OverviewAt Penn Foster Group, we are transforming online learning to help learners by bringing together Penn Foster, CareerStep, Ashworth College, James Madison High School, the New York Institute of Photography, the New York Institute of Art and Design, and other education platforms.
