[Remote] SAP Finance (Record to Report) Architect

Materion Corporation is seeking an SAP Finance (Record to Report) Architect responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP solutions to support the Record to Report process. The role involves leading solution design, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance financial processes.ResponsibilitiesLead the solution design and configuration for Record to Report process and systems to meet business needsDevelop and maintain the overall SAP architecture for R2R, ensuring alignment with business requirements and best practicesCollaborate with functional and technical teams to implement SAP FICO solutions to support the Record to Report process, including General Ledger (GL), Financial Reporting, Fixed Assets, Intercompany Accounting, and OneStream Consolidations etcProvide end-to-end support for SAP FICO and other financial systems for processes including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), and Product Costing (PC)Ensure the integration of SAP FICO with other SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD, PP) and third-party systemsSupport data migration, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) during SAP implementation or upgradesCollaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirement in the finance spaceAnalyze current R2R processes and identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and recommend SAP solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracyDrive the adoption of best practices in R2R processes across the organizationEnsure that SAP solutions comply with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP, SOX etc) and regulatory requirementsSupport the generation of financial reports and dashboards using SAP reporting toolsImplement controls and audit mechanisms within SAP to ensure data accuracy and complianceLead SAP FICO and other financial systems implementation and upgrade projects, including planning, resource allocation, and timeline managementCoordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project deliveryManage project risks, issues, and change requestsWork closely with finance, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into SAP solutionsAct as a trusted advisor to the leadership on SAP R2R capabilities and strategiesProvide technical expertise and guidance to project teams and end-usersMonitor the performance of SAP R2R systems (SAP FICO and others) and address any issues or bottlenecksStay updated on SAP releases, enhancements, and new functionalities, and recommend upgrades or improvements as neededEnsure the scalability and flexibility of SAP solutions to support future business growthDevelop and deliver training materials for end-users and key stakeholders on SAP R2R processes and functionalitiesCreate and maintain detailed documentation, including solution designs, functional specifications, and process flowsSkillsBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, information technologyMinimum 8 years of experience in SAP FICO implementation, configuration, and supportExpertise in SAP FI/CO modules, including General Ledger (GL), Asset Accounting (AA), and Financial ReportingStrong understanding of SAP integration with other modules (e.g., MM, SD, PP) and third-party systemsProficiency in SAP configuration, data migration, Datawarehouse and reporting toolsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsProven experience as a team lead or project manager in SAP FICO projectsStrong understanding of financial and controlling processes, including accounting principles and cost managementProven experience in designing and implementing SAP solutions for financial reporting and accountingMaster's degree or professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) is a plusStrong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and related tools (eg.
