The Sales Solution Engineer plays a critical role in the pre-sales process, engaging with customers to uncover technical requirements and craft solution strategies while delivering compelling demonstrations.ResponsibilitiesAct as the technical point of contact on standard customer engagements — coordinating pre-sales meetings, determining technical requirements, and ensuring a thorough understanding of customer needs to inform the right solution approachCreate and present compelling demonstrations of proposed solution strategies to key customer stakeholders, applying best practice knowledge and solution expertise to drive validation and buy-inCoordinate with global services teams to transition key customer information, remaining actively involved throughout the process to ensure a seamless and high-quality customer handoff experienceCompose thorough internal documentation reflecting all activity related to the solution strategy and deliver well-crafted technical responses for requests for proposals (RFPs)Consistently identify and share opportunities to improve internal efficiencies, staying current on best practices, market trends, and solution enhancements through ongoing collaboration with Development teamsParticipate in trade shows, conferences, and industry events — representing Hyland's solutions and contributing to the broader sales and technical communitySkillsBachelor's degree in a related field such as Management Information Systems or Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience in technical sales with a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging, informative, and compelling presentations to diverse audiencesKnowledge of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and general software implementation methodologiesStrong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within a team and across cross-functional areasAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment as a self-directed professional who can manage projects independently through to completionDemonstrated ability to establish rapport, earn trust, and gain consensus with key customer stakeholders including executive-level decision-makersExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions with ease, clarity, and impact across varied audiencesA genuine drive to learn and stay professionally current on industry trends, platform capabilities, and emerging technologiesComfort navigating ambiguity and adapting quickly to evolving customer needs, shifting priorities, and tight deadlinesWillingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time to support customer engagements, events, and industry conferencesCompany OverviewHyland uniquely empowers your organization with unified access to AI-enabled enterprise content and unstructured data across repositories, unlocking profound insights that fuel innovations – fundamentally redefining how you operate and engage with those you serve.
