[Remote] Regional Operations Director

They are seeking an experienced Regional Operations Director to oversee the operational performance of multi-specialty Partner Hospitals, focusing on financial outcomes, operational consistency, and people development across the region.ResponsibilitiesProvide direct operational leadership and accountability to Hospital Directors and Hospital Managers across a portfolio of two to four Partner HospitalsConduct regular site visits to assess operational performance, identify gaps and implement corrective strategies in partnership with hospital leadership teamsEstablish and monitor regional operational standards, workflows and performance benchmarks consistent with Veritas policies and best practicesServe as the escalation point for complex operational, clinical support and employee relations matters that exceed hospital-level resolutionLead regional operational planning, including scheduling of site visits, leadership meetings and cross-hospital initiativesSupport onboarding and integration of acquired hospitals into Veritas operational standards as neededOwn regional P&L performance across all assigned hospitals, including revenue growth, expense management and EBITDA outcomesPartner with Hospital Directors to develop, monitor and manage annual operating budgets and capital expenditure requestsAnalyze financial reports, KPIs and trend data to identify opportunities, flag risks and drive performance improvementHold hospital leadership accountable for financial targets, providing coaching and support to address variancesReport regional financial performance to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborate on enterprise-level forecastingDirectly lead, develop and evaluate Hospital Directors and, where applicable, Hospital Managers within the regional portfolioIdentify leadership development needs and work with Human Resources to build succession plans, training pathways and performance improvement strategiesDrive associate engagement and retention across the region by modeling Veritas values and holding hospital leaders accountable for team culture outcomesPartner with Human Resources on complex employee relations matters, investigations and workforce planningConduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews with direct reports to provide clear expectations, feedback and supportCollaborate with regional Medical Directors and hospital-level Medical Directors to ensure alignment between operational capacity and clinical deliverySupport hospitals in maintaining compliance with AVMA, state veterinary board and accreditation standards applicable to specialty and emergency practicePartner with clinical leadership to address staffing, workflow and facility issues that affect patient care quality or team safetyMonitor client experience data across the region and work with hospital leaders to implement service improvementsChampion adoption and effective utilization of practice management systems and operational technology across assigned hospitalsSupport hospital teams in integrating AI-assisted tools, including ambient documentation and clinical workflow technology, into daily operationsIdentify technology gaps and work with the enterprise technology team to implement solutions that improve efficiency and care deliverySkillsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Veterinary Practice Management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in a multi-site veterinary or healthcare leadership roleMinimum seven years of progressive leadership experience in veterinary medicine or multi-unit healthcare operations, with at least three years in a multi-site or regional director-level roleDemonstrated P&L ownership and financial management experience across multiple locationsProven ability to lead, develop and hold accountable hospital or site-level directors and managers across a geographically distributed portfolioStrong analytical skills with experience using financial reports, operational KPIs and performance data to drive decisionsExcellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence across all organizational levelsAbility to travel 50% or more, including across multiple time zonesExperience in specialty and/or emergency veterinary medicine, including familiarity with 24-hour hospital operationsPrior experience in a PE-backed, high-growth or multi-site veterinary consolidation environmentCertified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) designation or equivalent healthcare management credentialMaster's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related fieldFamiliarity with practice management software such as ezyVet, Impromed or AVImarkExperience supporting post-acquisition integration of veterinary or healthcare practicesExposure to AI-assisted clinical or operational tools in a hospital or healthcare
