[Remote] Rattlesnake Creek Project Manager

They are seeking a Rattlesnake Creek Project Manager to manage and advance conservation programs in the Rattlesnake Creek Watershed, focusing on implementing water-saving strategies and collaboration with stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesManage and advance conservation programs, plans, and methods for the Rattlesnake Creek WatershedDeploy programs designed to implement water savings across the watershed through irrigation technology adoption, precision fallowing, and other conservation practicesProvide technical leadership and support to the Rattlesnake Creek watershed by planning, directing, and implementing irrigation technologies and land stewardship on private agricultural landsAddress water infrastructure, irrigation technologies, and innovative farming techniquesFoster cross-site learning among a multi-disciplinary group of stakeholders and supply conservation coordination with site or landscape level information relevant to the planning processDevelop and implement conservation strategies, employing a full range of conservation tools to acquire varying degrees of water savingsImplement a variety of strategies to continue public and private support for TNC conservation priorities in the regionCoordinate supply chain support with commodity markets and researchers, collaborating with TNC’s Corporate Engagement team to implement grant deliverablesWork on expanding phreatophyte removal efforts throughout the watershed with partner organizations and agenciesSkillsBA/BS, agriculture, biology, agronomy or related degree and 5 years' experience in natural resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience with agricultural entitiesExperience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verballyExperience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Web BrowsersExperience with principles of land acquisitionExperience negotiating complex agreementsThis position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with TNC's Auto Safety ProgramExperience with crop irrigation in semi-arid environmentsKnowledge of land management conservation practice and conservation scienceKnowledge of current trends and practices in conservation, land management and natural resource preservationAbility and willingness to apply science to decision-making and guide activities in Rattlesnake CreekKnowledge of federal, state and local policies and regulations related to agricultureExperience working with commodity marketsExcellent communication skills via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languagesBenefitsHealth care benefitsFlexible spending accountsA 401(k) plan with an 8% employer matchParental leaveAccrued paid time offLife insuranceDisability coverageEmployee assistance programOther life and work well-being benefitsFlexible work environment that supports of the health and well-being of the people we employCompany OverviewThe Nature Conservancy is a non-profit conservation organization that works to protect terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecosystems.
