[Remote] RAC System Design Engineer (Mechanical)

System One is a leader in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America, and they are seeking a RAC System Design Engineer (Mechanical) to support the design and delivery of an advanced Reactor Air Cooling System for a next-generation nuclear energy project. This role involves collaborating with various engineering teams to ensure the successful design, integration, and deployment of innovative reactor technology.ResponsibilitiesDesign nuclear and industrial mechanical systems including requirements development, engineering analyses, specifications, and system drawingsDevelop and maintain system architecture and design documentation, including Design Basis Documents, P&IDs, and Interface Control DocumentsEstablish equipment design bases, including regulatory requirements, functional requirements, performance criteria, and failure mode evaluationsCoordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including nuclear, thermal hydraulic, mechanical, I&C, and civil/structural engineeringEvaluate equipment development requirements and support implementation of technology development strategiesDevelop engineering solutions that support operability, maintainability, and long-term reliabilityManage technical interfaces with suppliers and review supplier engineering deliverablesProvide technical oversight of supplier projects and coordinate technical reviews in partnership with supply chain teamsPrepare engineering calculations, design reports, specifications, drawings, and engineering change packagesSupport licensing activities including safety analysis reports, technical specifications, topical reports, and other regulatory documentationParticipate in design reviews and milestone assessments to verify design completeness and complianceSupport continuous improvement initiatives and application of nuclear industry best practicesSkillsB.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline6+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience for Level 1010+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience for Level 11Advanced degree may be considered in lieu of a portion of required experienceExperience designing complex mechanical systems, pressure vessels, or multidisciplinary engineered systemsStrong understanding of configuration management principles and design control processesExperience supporting engineering activities under quality programs such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skillsStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detailAbility to work independently and effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teamsAbility to manage competing technical priorities and multiple concurrent assignmentsExperience with commercial nuclear reactor systems or advanced reactor technologiesExperience with high-temperature pressure vessels or related mechanical systemsExperience developing technical documentation supporting system architecture and designProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not requiredFamiliarity with nuclear licensing processes and regulatory requirementsExperience working with supplier oversight and technical integration activitiesBenefitsHealth and welfare benefits coverage options including medical, dental, vision, spending accounts, life insurance, voluntary plans, as well as participation in a 401(k) planCompany OverviewSystem One is a professional staffing firms.
