[Remote] Python Software Engineer - Ubuntu Hardware Certification Team
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Canonical is a growing international software company that works with the open-source community to deliver Ubuntu. They are seeking a Python Software Engineer to join the Certification team, focusing on developing tools to certify hardware for Ubuntu environments.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Maintain and develop new features to our Python based test automation tools like Checkbox, used by both in-house teams and industry partners
ā¢ Invent new ways to enable remote, automated testing
ā¢ Help build the software counterpart to in-house designed testing hardware to help test device enablement (graphics, hotplug, bluetooth, etc)
ā¢ Write functional and performance tests to support hardware enablement and to protect from regressions
ā¢ Participate in meetings involving international travel 2-3 times per year
Skills
ā¢ Knowledge of Python programming language
ā¢ Quality oriented, pragmatic approach to software design and implementation
ā¢ Interest in test automation methodologies
ā¢ Previous experience working with Ubuntu or other Linux distributions
ā¢ Ability to be productive in a globally distributed team
ā¢ Passion for tinkering: you are a maker
ā¢ Experience working in an agile environment
ā¢ Hardware testing experience, for example in the IoT space
ā¢ Familiarity with the C programming language
