[Remote] Project Manager - Substation Engineering

The role focuses on leading multidiscipline engineering projects for multiple utility clients, ensuring they are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget.ResponsibilitiesTakes responsibility and accountability for leading multidiscipline engineering projects to ensure they are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective, and timely mannerLeads the development of project proposals for both new and existing clientsCreates project schedules, plans, and estimates accuratelyDefines the project scope clearly and ensures compliance with contract requirementsFosters effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure that the clientโs expectations are exceededOrganizes and leads effective project meetings with internal and external stakeholdersGenerates effective project reporting per internal and client requirementsEstablishes project technical requirements including the approved design basis, standards, and all applicable regulatory and code requirementsManages the contract including delivery of all project financial goalsPlans the engineering design activities to meet the project schedule and drive the scheduleMonitors project performance on an ongoing basis to identify issues and opportunities earlyDevelops preventative and corrective measures to address project lessons learned and deficienciesEnsures proper QA/QC procedures are complete and coordinates project interdisciplinary reviewsProvides timely and effective project turnover and close-out documentationReviews and approves project invoicesInterfaces with the Accounting Department to help resolve any billing issuesSkillsBachelor's Degree in Engineering8+ years of experience in an engineering organization with at least 2 years of project or engineering managementStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAccuracy and attention to detail as well as ability to drive deadlines and complete assignmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishCommitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environmentPE License and/or PMP CertificationThorough understanding of electrical utility procedures, practices, and construction means and methodsProficiency with Project Management tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft OfficeBenefitsMedical/Dental/VisionPaid HolidaysPTO (Paid Time Off)Group Life Insurance/LTD/AD&D401KVoluntary Benefit PlansPaid Parental LeaveFE/PE Prep CoursesCompany OverviewTier 1 Utility Design, Inc.
