The Production Engineer role involves developing the underlying infrastructure for Meta's products and services, ensuring reliability and performance for billions of users while solving complex problems in live production environments.ResponsibilitiesOwn back-end services which handle fleet management, front-end services such as WhatsApp / Instagram / Facebook / Meta Ads, infrastructure components that drive Meta’s advances in AI, core services which are used by every team at Meta, the world’s largest MySQL deployments, networking systems and everything in betweenWrite and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug the hardest problems, live, on some of the largest and most complex systems in the worldTogether with your engineering team, you will share an on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidentsPartner alongside the best engineers in the industry working on the coolest stuff around, the code and systems you work on will be in production and used by billions of people all around the worldSkillsKnowledge of common web technologies and/or Internet service architectures (such as LAMP or MEAN stacks, CDN, Load Balancing techniques, etc.)Experience with Internet service architecture capacity planning and/or handling needs for urgent capacity augmentationExperience configuring and running infrastructure level applications, such as Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL, etcCurrently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
