[Remote] Product Engineer - Seat Complete

The Product Engineer II will manage the integration of seat components into a seat and vehicle system, utilizing engineering theory and manufacturing processes to meet customer specifications.ResponsibilitiesLead customer technical interfaceResponsible for working with other cross functional teams to coordinate CAD, CAE, tooling, and design for manufacturing and assemblyAddresses problems using engineered solutions (FEA, DFM, DFMEA, design analysis, calculations, design review, etc.)Ability to guide a team of supporting product engineersAbility to identify processes needing improvement, and to drive improvementsSkillsBSME/BSEE degree or equivalent3+ years of experience working with automotive OEM's, preferably in automotive seatingDemonstrated success with developing and launching seating programs from concept to launchExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsDemonstrated organizational and problem-solving skillsApplication of DFSS and Shanin techniques to root cause issuesAbility to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlinesAbility to perform and/or manage complex design analysis tasksDevelopment of seat complete DVP&RLead interface with Stellantis customer engineering team, Lear plants, and Lear internal engineering teams, reporting to the Manager of Engineering-JITDesign and integration and release of foam, trim, plastics, structures, and other non-JIT components into the final seat complete assemblyEnsures global best practices are being followedProficient in GD&T, DFSS, DFMEA, and DFA/DFMProficient in FMVSS and ECE specificationsLocal, regional, and international travel required depending on program mix and time of development cycleAdvanced engineering, technical, or business degree preferredExperience working for or with Ford or other NA OEMsCompany OverviewThe Lear Corporation is a Fortune 500 company with world-class products designed, It was founded in 1917, and is headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, USA, with a workforce of 10001+ employees.
