Remote Prior Authorization Pharmacy Tech

Job Title: Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician (Remote – Contract to Hire) Pay: $20/hour Schedule: Full-time | Multiple shifts available (see below) Location: Fully Remote (Preference for candidates located in the PST time zone) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This fully remote position is ideal for candidates with prior authorization and call center experience who thrive in a fast-paced, member-focused environment. As a Tech I Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician , you will: • Handle inbound calls from providers, pharmacies, and members. • Provide professional and courteous assistance through the criteria-based prior authorization process. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all reviews. • Transfer all clinical questions, escalations, and judgment calls to the pharmacist team. • Assist with related tasks such as outbound calls , processing fax/ePA prior authorizations , monitoring department mailboxes, and other duties as assigned. Training • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM CST (for 5 weeks) • Requirement: Candidates must be available for the full training period with no planned time off . Work Schedule After Training • Monday – Friday: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM CST (multiple 8-hour shifts; assigned after training; candidates can bid on preferred shifts) • Saturday – Sunday: 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM CST (multiple 8-hour shifts) Qualifications • Pharmacy Technician license/certification (state-specific requirements apply) • Prior Authorization experience required • Call center experience required • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote setting • Preference for candidates in the PST time zone What We Offer • $20 per hour with opportunity for contract-to-hire conversion • Fully remote – work from the comfort of home .
