TYG is a well-established, growing, multi-disciplinary forensic consulting firm, seeking a Principal Forensic Mechanical Engineer to lead and manage a team of skilled forensic engineers. This role will involve overseeing complex forensic investigations, providing expert consultation, and offering testimony in legal settings.ResponsibilitiesLead and Oversee Investigations : Manage and direct forensic investigations into the cause and origin of mechanical system failures, damages, and defects across a range of industrial, commercial, and residential sitesAnalyze Failures : Provide expert analysis of mechanical failures, assess construction quality, and review design and maintenance procedures. Offer comprehensive recommendations for repair or replacement where necessaryTeam Leadership : Head a multidisciplinary team on large and complex forensic projects. Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical direction to team members, ensuring high standards of quality and performanceClient Relations and Reporting : Prepare and review clear, concise, and detailed reports and documentation, offering expert opinions and conclusions. Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients and consultants, acting as the primary point of contact for all forensic mechanical mattersExpert Testimony : Serve as an expert witness, offering authoritative testimony in legal and regulatory settings where requiredSkillsBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering requiredA minimum of 8-10 years of experience in evaluating mechanical system and component failures within commercial or industrial settingsActive Professional Engineering (PE) license requiredDemonstrated experience in managing teams or projects in a forensic or engineering settingProven experience providing expert witness testimony is a strong assetA collaborative leader with a desire to mentor and foster growth within a team of professionalsMulti-state licensing is highly preferredCompany OverviewOur approach is simple: to connect the right people with the right opportunities on their path to success.
