[Remote] Principal Environmental Planner & Project Manager – Mining Team

The role involves leading impactful projects in environmental planning and project management, focusing on permitting and compliance for mining and energy projects in the Mountain West region.ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee federal, state, and local permitting as well as NEPA compliance for both coal and non-coal mining and energy projectsAct as the primary contact for government agencies (local, state, and federal) and private sector clients, including mining companies, developers, and engineering firmsCoordinate and guide multidisciplinary teams through research, technical document preparation, and client engagementDrive focused marketing and business development efforts to expand ICF’s presence and client base in the Mountain WestBuild and strengthen relationships with mining companies, key state/county officials, and strategic partners in engineering, hydrology, hydrogeology, and geologyRepresent ICF at national and state mining conferences to showcase our technical expertise and grow our professional networkSkillsBachelor's degree in Geology, Physical Science, Natural Science, Policy, Environmental Science, or related field12+ years of experience with environmental reviews, mine permitting, or NEPA project management at the national, state, or local levelMaster's degree in a related discipline10+ years managing or preparing environmental permitting and NEPA documentationRecent hands-on experience with U.S. Department of the Interior and Mountain West States regulations and policiesDirect experience securing environmental permits and reviewing technical studies addressing biological/cultural resources, air quality, noise, traffic, and hydrologyExperience developing and permitting Plans of OperationExpertise in pre-NEPA activities such as surveys, data collection, and supplemental reportsProven success in crafting and implementing business growth strategies for mining clientsStrong ability to build and maintain long-term client relationshipsBenefitsFlexible Work Arrangements: Balance your professional and personal life with our fully remote options.Community Investment: Enjoy donation matching and volunteer opportunities.Professional Growth: Take advantage of tuition reimbursement, career development resources, 401k matching, and our Employee Stock Purchase Plan.Company OverviewICF is a global consulting and technology services provider focused on making big things possible for our clients.
