[Remote] Principal Engineer - Data Center

Electric Power Engineers (EPE) is focused on designing the grid of the future and is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer for Data Centers. The role involves leading the design, implementation, and lifecycle support of electrical systems in hyperscale data centers, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with various teams to optimize system efficiency and reliability.ResponsibilitiesEngineer medium‑ and low‑voltage power distribution, UPS and generator backup, and emergency power systems for high‑density loadsProduce and review one‑line diagrams, schematics, Bills of Materials, and installation drawingsEnsure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations, including National Electric Code (NEC) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standardsWork closely with mechanical, civil, controls, and IT teams to define project requirements, design criteria, and budgetsProvide technical leadership during design reviews, value‑engineering sessions, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and on‑site inspectionsAnalyze electrical systems to identify and resolve issues, including load balancing, capacity planning, and power consumption optimizationStay up-to-date with advancements in data center technologies, and recommend new technologies to improve the reliability and efficiency of our data center infrastructureSkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 10+ years of progressive experience in data‑center or other mission‑critical electrical design; active Professional Engineer (P.E.) licenseDeep knowledge of power‑distribution architecture, UPS/generator systems, grounding/bonding, and protective‑device coordination for ≥ 20 MW facilitiesDemonstrated success delivering data‑center projects from concept through commissioning, including field construction supportKnowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including NEC and IEC standardsMaster's degree in Electrical EngineeringBenefitsComprehensive health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, and vision with 100% premium coverage foryouGenerous PTO and paid holidaysMyShare Employee Ownership ProgramWork with industry leaders401K, up to a 4% match (100% vested from day 1)Company OverviewElectric Power Engineers, Inc.
