[Remote] PHP Developer, Prague based

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Whirr Crew s.r.o. is looking for an experienced PHP Developer to contribute to the design, development, and long-term evolution of backend systems and software products. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development skills and an architectural mindset to shape scalable and maintainable solutions. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain PHP-based backend applications • Contribute to system architecture, including application structure, data models, and integration patterns • Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with external services • Make technical decisions that ensure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability • Review code and provide architectural and technical guidance to other developers • Collaborate closely with product owners, frontend developers, and DevOps teams • Participate in technical discussions, estimations, and solution design Skills • Strong proficiency in PHP (7/8) • Hands-on experience with modern frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel • Solid understanding of OOP principles, MVC, and design patterns • Experience designing and working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) • Experience contributing to or defining application architecture in medium to large-scale systems • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows • Experience with DDD, microservices, or modular monolith architectures Company Overview • specializes in custom AI and cybersecurity solutions, ensuring seamless implementation and maintenance of NIS2 and DORA compliance.
