[Remote] Patient Financial Services Analyst

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is a non-profit health consortium serving the health interests of Southeast Alaska residents. They are seeking a Patient Financial Services Analyst to identify trends that improve accounts receivable by analyzing charge validation and denials resolution, as well as performing various patient accounting functions.ResponsibilitiesIdentifies, analyzes, and reconciles billing errors or omissionsEnsures proper charge capture, billing, and adjudication of claims in accordance with federal, state and private billing guidelinesMonitors Discharged Not Final Billed (DNFB) to determine necessary actions required to minimize the volume and value of accounts being heldResponsible for analyzing and escalating themes for payer relation bulk resolutionObtains and compares data from multiple sources and reviews for discrepancies using various applicationsSupports the Patient Financial Services department with performing complex process and system analysisProvides guidance, communicates, and serves as subject matter expert for assigned service line related to the billing and collections processAssists with special projects as assigned by Revenue Cycle LeadersOther duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant experience in hospital or physician billing officeTwo years of experience in hospital or physician billing office – requiredKnowledge of hospital/clinic billing and collectionsKnowledge of payor remittances and knowledge of CPT's, HCPCS, and Revenue CodesKnowledge of major insurance companies' billing policies to ensure complianceKnowledge of reconciling and balancing of payments received against account receivablesKnowledge of medical terminologyCritical thinking skills (analyzing, problem-solving, troubleshooting)Organizational skillsOral and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate within cross-functional teamsAbility to complete data entry for a lengthy amount of timeAbility to work on different projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced setting with overlapping commitments and deadlinesBenefitsRetirementPaid time offPaid parental leaveHealth insuranceDentalVision benefitsLife insuranceLong and short-term disabilityCompany OverviewFor nearly 50 years, SEARHC has provided high-quality healthcare services to the residents of Southeast Alaska.
