Responsibilities β’ Check verify all citations, pin cites, caselaw, statutes. β’ Verify and fact-check all assertions using board records, EMMA filings, and public data. β’ Cross-reference exhibits and compile an Evidence Verification Table linking every factual statement to a supporting source. β’ Integrate binding precedent and statutory authority directly into findings β no paraphrase or commentary. β’ Maintain judicial tone: conclusion-first, declarative, and evidentiary (βThe record establishes β¦β). β’ Shepardize/KeyCite authorities using Lexis+ or Westlaw. β’ Deliver both clean and redlined Word drafts with full-form California-style footnotes. β’ Conclude with a concise Legal-Exposure Summary outlining applicable statutory and regulatory consequences. Qualifications β’ Minimum 3 years in legal-research, appellate, or administrative-law writing. β’ Demonstrated ability to write in a judicial or opinion voice integrating law and fact. β’ Advanced skill in Lexis+ / Westlaw legal verification. β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Word (Track Changes, footnotes, formatting). β’ Experience managing exhibit-based factual records. β’ J.D. or paralegal certification required.
