Altium Packaging is a leader in the manufacturing sector, and they are seeking an Operations Technical Support Specialist to stabilize and restore production operations across their manufacturing plants in the U.S. This highly mobile role requires hands-on leadership to address critical production issues and improve technical capabilities among teams.ResponsibilitiesBuild sustainable technical capability across operators and maintenance technicians, with a specific focus on:Bottle processing fundamentalsEquipment troubleshooting processesStandardized maintenance and operating practicesDeliver hands-on, floor-based training (1:1 or small group) across maintenance and productionSupport and continuously improve operator and maintenance technical training programsIdentify recurring issues and systemic gaps impacting safety, quality, cost, or deliveryPartner with Operations and Maintenance leadership to implement standard work, processes, and controls that prevent recurrenceSupport site teams in sustaining improvements after departureReinforce strict adherence to safety standards, PPE, and environmental regulations during all intervention and recovery activitiesEnsure emergency repairs and corrective work comply with local, state, federal, and company requirementsPartner with equipment vendors and technical service providers during escalations to accelerate resolutionSupport plants with vendor troubleshooting, parts strategy, and post-event learningDocument root causes, corrective actions, and lessons learned from each deploymentProvide concise executive-level summaries following major interventionsSkillsSupports all manufacturing plants across the United States and CanadaTravel up to 100%, often with little advance noticeMust be able to work extended hours during critical recovery periods6–10 years' experience in a high-output plastics manufacturing environment, with strong exposure to bottle processing operations5–10 years of hands-on experience in maintenance and/or production technical rolesDemonstrated expertise in troubleshooting blow molding systems and downstream bottle processing equipmentProven ability to lead under pressure during unplanned operational eventsStrong decision-making skills with the ability to assess incomplete information in fast-moving environmentsWillingness and capability to be hands-on on the plant floorAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in manufacturing environmentsBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceExperience leading multi-site or organizational level technical initiativesBudget and cost-management exposureExperience leading cross-functional operations and maintenance teamsStrong communication skills with the ability to influence without authorityBenefitsMedical, dental and vision plansCompany holidays and vacation daysTuition reimbursementLearning and training opportunitiesBonus potential401(k) plan with company contributionsRewards and recognition programsOpportunities to make a difference in the communityCompany OverviewAltium Packaging engages in the design, development & manufacturing of plastic packages & recycled resin for various industries.
