[Remote] Nevada Riparian Restoration Project Manager

They are seeking a Nevada Riparian Restoration Project Manager to plan and implement wet meadow and riparian restoration projects while collaborating with partners like the Bureau of Land Management.ResponsibilitiesProvides technical leadership and support to the Nevada business unit by developing, planning, directing and implementing a riparian restoration project in NevadaGains cooperation from outside parties to accomplish program goalsFinancial responsibility includes working within/managing a budget to complete projects, negotiating and contracting with vendors, assisting with budget development, and assisting with fundraisingEnsures program compliance with internal policies and external requirementsUnder minimal supervision, makes independent decisions based on analysis, experience and contextMay work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstancesSkillsBA/BS, law or business degree and 5 years' experience in natural resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience negotiating complex agreementsExperience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verballyExperience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web BrowsersExperience designing and implementing restoration projectsThis position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with TNC's Auto Safety ProgramMulti-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciatedExperience working with federal land management agencies, especially Bureau of Land Management in the Intermountain WestExperience implementing scientific monitoring protocols, specifically the BLM's riparian, rangeland, and stream assessment, inventory, and monitoring proceduresKnowledge of current trends and practices in conservation, land management, and riparian restoration or ecologyAbility to explain conservation practices to technical and non-technical audiencesCompleting tasks independently with respect to timeline(s)Excellent communication skills via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languagesExperience in training, curriculum design, or workplan or strategy developmentExperience working with community-based or collaborative settings to create shared outcomes for diverse groups of peopleExperience designing and implementing low-tech and process-based restoration projects, especially riparian or aquatic restorationWriting grants to help landowners and land managers implement restoration projectsExperience working in remote locations with reliable internet and minimal supervisionBenefitsHealth care benefitsFlexible spending accountsA 401(k) plan with an 8% employer matchParental leaveAccrued paid time offLife insuranceDisability coverageEmployee assistance programOther life and work well-being benefitsFlexible work environment that supports of the health and well-being of the people we employCompany OverviewThe Nature Conservancy is a non-profit conservation organization that works to protect terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecosystems.
