[Remote] Network Engineer (SME)

They are seeking a Network Engineer (SME) to handle network and system administration, integration enhancements, and maintenance of AvMC's classified and unclassified infrastructure, ensuring it remains secure, reliable, and compliant with requirements.ResponsibilitiesDesign, configure, implement, upgrade, and maintain classified and unclassified network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and virtual networking componentsUpgrade network configurations to support evolving modeling, simulation, and test requirementsConfigure and maintain VLANs, routing, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, NTP, and network segmentationMonitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and configuration issuesMaintain network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and baselinesAssist with IT modernization and technology refresh initiativesPerform configuration, preventative maintenance, fault isolation of local/remote LAN equipment, and telecommunications circuitryDuties may include providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; providing information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirementsPlan implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the classified and unclassified networksConduct testing of network systems and associated devicesEvaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the networkConduct audit of equipment and production systems and create appropriate reportsProvide guidance to junior team members to achieve objectives in accordance with established policiesSkillsMaster's or bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (Master's Preferred)Great communication and organizational skillsFifteen (15) years of prior experience in a similar roleDoD 8570 Level II/III certification desiredActive Security Clearance RequiredCompany OverviewIPTA rapidly delivers quality, innovative digital transformation solutions.
