Remote Medical Billing Accounts Receivable Specialist
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented independent contractor for a remote Accounts Receivable specialist role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and electronic health records (EHR) systems, excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work with a team of other contractors. Attention to detail and proficiency in medical terminology are essential for success in this role.
Duties
ā¢ Process and record incoming payments accurately and timely.
ā¢ Manage accounts receivable aging reports to ensure timely collections.
ā¢ Prepare and send invoices to clients and follow up on outstanding payments.
ā¢ Review patient accounts for discrepancies and resolve issues as needed.
ā¢ Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including payments, adjustments, and collections.
ā¢ Collaborate with the medical billing team to ensure proper coding of services using DRG, CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding systems.
ā¢ Utilize EMR and EHR systems to manage patient records effectively.
ā¢ Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts receivable.
Requirements
ā¢ Proven experience in medical billing, collections, or a similar role within a medical office setting.
ā¢ Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices (DRG, CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10).
ā¢ Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems is highly desirable.
ā¢ Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
ā¢ Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
ā¢ Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.
ā¢ Availability to work a day shift, Monday through Friday.
Compensation & Hiring Process:
ā¢ Pay: Starting from $12.00 per hour.
ā¢ Job Type: Part-time, Contract.
ā¢ Trial Period: A two-week paid trial period will be conducted to assess knowledge and skills.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
