[Remote] Senior Financial Investigator

CGS Federal is seeking a Senior Financial Investigator to join their team providing legal support and investigative services to a large federal agency. The role involves planning and conducting investigations, analyzing evidence, and preparing reports to support prosecutorial objectives related to violations of federal law.ResponsibilitiesPlans and conducts investigationsPerforms quantitative, qualitative, or other analysis of relevant factsPrepares the results to support the missionDevelops and analyzes evidence that comes from other investigators and law enforcement officers and collects information relating to this evidence or legal matters under consideration from appropriate primary and secondary sourcesGathers and analyzes facts including statements, timelines, scientific, or technical data, for the purpose of advancing prosecutorial objectivesEstablishes and/or verifies relationships among all facts and evidence obtained or presented to confirm the authenticity of documents, corroborate witness statements, and otherwise build proof necessary for successful litigationProvides analysis relevant to violations of federal law, including but not limited to money laundering, wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud, health care fraud, procurement fraud, and fraud related to other federal programsIdentifies sources of information and multiple variablesConducts asset investigations, verifies employment, and conducts financial analysis to ensure that the target can pay monetary penaltiesDevelops understanding of applicable federal, state, or local law to the extent necessary to make sound decisions on the direction and scope of investigationsDevise methods for obtaining, preserving, and presenting evidence to the greatest effectWorks with the assigned Paralegals or Legal Assistants, and supervisory attorneys to determine applicable statutory and regulatory law and identify possible violationsPerforms a variety of ancillary services in direct support of assigned cases and mattersUses electronic databases to identify assets, documents, and other physical evidencePrepares interim and final reports on the progress of investigationsAssists in the compilation and analysis of documents and physical evidence, and the creation of charts, graphs, videotapes, and other audio-visual materials for use in motions and at trialPrepares affidavits and testifies in court as requiredAdvises on methods for planning, scheduling, and conducting investigations and identifies any resources that may be requiredExamines books, ledgers, payroll records, cost reports, billing statements, invoices, correspondence, computer data and other records pertaining to the transactions, events, or allegations under investigationEstablishes and verifies relationships among all facts and evidence obtained or presented to confirm the authenticity of documents, corroborate witness statements, and otherwise build proof necessary to successful case resolutionSkillsMinimum of four years experience in planning and conducting civil or criminal complex investigations concerning misuse of public, private, or insurance fundsWorking knowledge of current investigative techniques including the use of commercial databases and other sources of informationMust have a valid driver's licenseU.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the requisite background investigationExperience in law enforcementExperience in analyzing, organizing, and presenting a large volume of data using common software programsExperience in reviewing and understanding financial recordsExperience in interviewing potential witnessesCandidates may receive added consideration if they have previous experience with the United States Army, Department of Homeland Security, or other large federal agencyBenefitsHealth, Dental, and VisionLife Insurance401kFlexible Spending Account (Health, Dependent Care, and Commuter)Paid Time Off and Observance of State/Federal HolidaysCompany OverviewContact Government Services strives to simplify and enhance government bureaucracy through the optimization of human, technical, and financial resources.
