[Remote] Mechanical Engineering Patent Attorney
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bookoff McAndrews is a premier patent counseling firm seeking a Mechanical Engineering Patent Attorney with 2-5 years of experience. The role involves drafting patent applications, managing a docket of cases, and assisting with prosecution and counseling matters.ResponsibilitiesMeeting with inventors and drafting patent applications for filing in the USPTO; prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO, including interviewing Examiners; working collaboratively with clients and other BoMc attorneys to develop and refine claim strategiesProactively managing a docket of cases the attorney has primary responsibility for, across a blend of clients from start-ups to Fortune 500 companiesAssisting with other prosecution/counseling matters including: drafting noninfringement and invalidity opinions; and conducting due diligence investigations and performing freedom-to-operate and landscape analyses under the supervision of the firm’s partners; andPost-grant proceedings before the USPTO, including Inter Partes ReviewsSkillsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or significant experience working in mechanical engineering2-5 years of patent prosecution experience with a focus on mechanical engineering workPositive attitude toward client serviceOutstanding organizational, interpersonal, and professional service skills (written and verbal)Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities, and work in a team environmentSelf-starter with commitment to success and personal professional growthEnjoy being involved in all aspects of a vibrant law firm teamBenefitsPlus competitive benefitsThis position is eligible for three different bonus opportunities:Trimester bonuses of up to an additional $15,000 for staying on track to meet your billable requirement.End-of-year discretionary merit and productivity bonuses contingent upon meeting the billable requirement.Company OverviewHow are we different?
