[Remote] Materials And Process Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Butler Aerospace & Defense is seeking a Materials and Process Engineer to support engineering activities for all product lines. The role involves identifying and recommending materials, conducting design reviews, and interfacing with various engineering and supply chain organizations. Responsibilities Responsible for supporting Materials and Process (M&P) Engineering activities for all product lines Specifically, identification and recommendation of materials, provision of substantiating performance and process data, development and analysis of design data & allowable, and creation or amending of procurement and process specifications Individual will perform design review and approval for: materials (metallic, non-metallic, & composite), material processing notes, producibility, environmental conformance and selection of protective finishes Exposure to Static Systems including but not limited to Airframe, Interiors, Propulsion as well as Dynamic Systems including Blades, Rotors, Controls/Hydraulics and Transmissions The position will also interface and support the material supply chain, the parts supply chain and partners, Supplier Support Engineering, Product Integrity, Procurement, and Operations organizations, in addition to Design Engineering support Non-Destructive test methods Protective finishes and coatings Corrosion enhancement and prevention Skills Familiarity with Python is required Ability to work in non-standard programming environments is required (ie, no linting, autocomplete, web access only git, etc.) Should be able to pass a simple technical review focusing on the standard library Good understanding of Standard Library required Ability to read and understand PyDoc generated documentation required Portfolio of personal projects, project contributions, or demonstrations of knowledge (ie, leetcode, GitHub) preferred Familiarity with Microsoft Excel Integrations through Pandas and Openpyxl preferred Familiarity with the tkinter package and its various UI elements preferred Familiarity with Spyder IDE for programming, debugging, and testing preferred Good code hygiene (comments, PyDoc requirements, etc.) preferred Benefits 401K Medical Dental Vision Sick time as applicable to state law Company Overview STATE-OF-THE-ART, QUALITY, COST-OPTIMIZED SOLUTIONS Founded in 1947, Butler Aerospace & Defense/BAA is a U.S. It was founded in 1947, and is headquartered in Shelton, CT, US, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
