[Remote] Marketing Assistant

The Marketing Assistant role provides essential administrative and operational support to the Office of Development and Alumni Relations' Marketing team, focusing on marketing effort configuration and assisting in direct and email marketing initiatives.ResponsibilitiesConfigure direct marketing and public media efforts in Blackbaud CRMBuild and share tracking links in GiveCampus for marketing effortsAssist with email and direct mail marketing projectsManage multiple projects and meet fast-paced deadlinesWork with leadership to find alternative solutions when resources are not availableSupport other marketing functions as neededEnsure work is completed accurately and within deadlineSet high standards, exhibit a positive attitude, maintain strict confidentiality and show exemplary work ethicDemonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrate an open-minded approach to understanding people from all backgrounds, identities, abilities, perspectives and experiencesEstablish, cultivate and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal partnersReflect DAR’s and VCU’s core purpose and valuesSkillsB.S. in marketing or related field, or equivalent work experienceExperience in working with databases, especially Blackbaud eCRMExperience using project management tools, especially SmartsheetOne year or more of experience in a related positionExceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detailDemonstrated ability to manage multiple small tasks and meet deadlines reliablyAbility to pivot on short noticeStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace)Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretionDemonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCUExperience with tracking links, especially in GiveCampusExperience with marketing principlesExperience in an academic medical center, health care or higher education (Research I) setting or similar complex environmentsFamiliarity with development and alumni relationsBenefitsWide array of benefits to support you during your employment at VCUCompany OverviewVirginia Commonwealth University.
