NuScale Power is a company focused on nuclear technology, and they are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 2 to oversee technical supplier interactions and ensure compliance in manufacturing projects for instrumentation and control systems. The role involves collaborating with design organizations, reviewing documentation, and managing supplier performance to meet quality standards.ResponsibilitiesInteract daily with NuScale design organizations to interpret their needs and requirements to manufacturing entitiesContributes to the NuScale design organizations by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materialsPerform subcontract technical lead duties by preparing requirements documents and schedules, coordinating and monitoring the technical aspects of assigned manufacturing and manufacturing development projectsReview manufacturing documentation of supplier to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, standards, and QA/QC requirementsDevelop, check, or review internal drawings, studies, and specificationsReview engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actionsMonitoring supplier performance to ensure compliance with procedures, applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specificationsManage supplier manufacturing mockup planning and test results to ensure desired outcomes are achievedPerforming surveys of new manufacturing suppliers to assess capabilities and documenting survey resultsPerform/coordinate grading of technical proposals and working with Procurement team for supplier selectionAssist Product Cost Management team with cost estimates and value engineering studiesPrepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing manufacturing information and trends including statistical analysis of manufacturing trendsMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societiesPerforms other duties as assignedSkillsA minimum of a B.S. degree in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or related discipline from a four year accredited college or university is requiredA minimum of 2 years of full-time engineering experience in development and oversight of manufacturing of I&C systems and electrical components is requiredManufacturing development for complex designs, components, or systems in a regulated environment is requiredDemonstrated project management skills along with strong technical writing skills and use of software including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and normal MS Office software is requiredEligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810Able to travel to local, national, and international suppliers using common forms of transportation.
