[Remote] Managing Director, Platform Engineering

Madison-Davis, LLC is a rapidly growing technology organization seeking a Head of Platform Engineering to lead initiatives in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, and developer enablement. This role will oversee a high-performing engineering organization and partner closely with senior leadership to define platform strategy and support long-term business growth.ResponsibilitiesLead and scale Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Infrastructure Engineering functionsDefine and execute long-term platform, cloud, and infrastructure strategiesBuild and evolve internal developer platforms that improve engineering productivity and operational efficiencyDrive modernization initiatives across cloud-native architectures and distributed systemsImprove observability, monitoring, reliability, automation, and deployment practicesPartner with engineering leadership to enhance developer experience and software delivery processesEstablish engineering standards, governance models, and operational best practicesSupport infrastructure automation, platform self-service capabilities, and Infrastructure-as-Code initiativesCollaborate with executive leadership on technology strategy, scalability, and organizational growthMentor engineering leaders and help build scalable engineering structures and processesFoster a culture of reliability, innovation, and continuous improvementSkills10+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, site reliability engineering, or related disciplinesProven experience leading and scaling engineering organizationsStrong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologiesAbility to balance technical leadership with hands-on engineering engagementExperience building internal developer platforms or platform-as-a-product capabilitiesExperience operating within high-growth and product-focused technology organizationsStrong software engineering background using languages such as Python, Go, Java, or similarExperience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation frameworksStrong expertise in observability, monitoring, reliability, and operational excellenceDeep understanding of distributed systems, containers, cloud platforms, and infrastructure automationExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and executive audiencesExperience with AI-enabled developer tooling, engineering productivity platforms, or automation initiativesExposure to OpenStack, VMware, or hybrid infrastructure environmentsExperience with policy-as-code, governance automation, or security engineering initiativesExperience leading cloud transformation or large-scale modernization programsFamiliarity with multi-cloud or enterprise-scale infrastructure environmentsCompany OverviewMadison-Davis is a staffing and recruiting company offering financial services.
