[Remote] Manager, HR Operations and Employee Relations

This role is responsible for leading employee relations and performance management processes while overseeing core HR operations functions such as Payroll and Compliance, ensuring effective service delivery and alignment with company policies.ResponsibilitiesOwns and manages the end-to-end performance management process, including coaching managers on performance management, documentation, and trackingServes as the central owner of all Employee Relations matters, including investigations, policy violations, and workplace concernsConducts prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations, ensuring appropriate documentation and defensible outcomesAdvises managers on employee performance issues, risk mitigation, and appropriate actionsDevelops and delivers guidance and training to strengthen performance management practices and documentationEnsures consistent application of policies and practices across the organizationIdentifies trends in performance management and ER matters and recommends proactive solutionsProvides operational oversight and support across HR Operations functions, including Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, HRIS, and HR Compliance, partnering with internal team members and external vendors to support effective service delivery and issue resolutionEnsures HR operational processes are accurate, efficient, and scalablePartners with HRBPs and HR leadership to ensure alignment and effective execution of people practicesPerforms other duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience5+ years of progressive HR experience, including Employee Relations and HR Operations exposureStrong Employee Relations background, including independent management of investigations and complex employee situationsDemonstrated ability to coach and influence managers through performance-related decisionsExperience operating at an HR Manager level or equivalent leadership capacity, including ownership of Employee Relations decisions and performance management outcomesExperience overseeing or supporting HR Operations functions, including Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, HRIS, and HR ComplianceExperience managing or supporting cross-functional operational functions and processesAbility to assess risk and make sound decisions in complex or ambiguous situationsStrong judgment and ability to handle sensitive and confidential mattersExcellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to guide leaders through complex situationsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in English is necessary for job-related communication, including understanding policies, writing correspondence, and engaging with colleagues or clientsBenefitsIndividuals in this role are eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus plan and a comprehensive benefit package, including a retirement plan, health coverage, and paid time off.EMS|MC will provide necessary equipment, including a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset.Reasonable accommodations will be provided to qualified individuals with disabilities as needed to support their ability to perform these essential functions.Company OverviewEMS|MC is the largest billing services provider focused exclusively on emergency medical services in the United States.
