[Remote] Linux Systems Administrator

They are seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to design, administer, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure supporting their global customer base and data center operations.ResponsibilitiesDesign, configure, and implement Linux system upgrades, enhancements, and infrastructure changes to support scalability and reliabilityAdminister and maintain Linux servers and services, applying systems analysis to diagnose and resolve complex performance, stability, or security issuesServe as a technical escalation point for Linux-related issues, analyzing root cause and determining appropriate remediation strategiesPartner with engineering and operations teams to design and support new data center deployments, including system configuration and application readinessPerform application and system migrations, evaluating dependencies, risks, and optimal execution approachesMonitor system performance and security posture, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to maintain compliance with security standardsDevelop and maintain automation, scripts, and tooling to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effortProduce and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational standards to support consistent administration and future scalingCollaborate cross-functionally to align systems administration efforts with platform reliability, scalability, and business objectivesSkillsStrong proficiency administering Linux systems (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu)Experience applying systems-level troubleshooting and analysis to resolve non-routine technical issuesFamiliarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similarHands-on experience configuring and supporting web serversHands-on experience configuring and supporting databases and caching solutionsHands-on experience configuring and supporting firewallsDemonstrated understanding of common Linux utilities and system toolingDemonstrated understanding of server and application architecture, including security hardeningDemonstrated understanding of distributed storage solutions (e.g., Ceph)Demonstrated understanding of virtualization technologiesDemonstrated understanding of load balancing conceptsDemonstrated understanding of core networking conceptsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teamsExperience with virtualization, networking, or software development is a plusBenefits100% company-paid insurance premiums for employee medical, dental and vision plans.401(k) plan that matches 100% up to 4%, with immediate vestingProfessional Development Reimbursement of $2,500 each year11 Holidays + Paid Time Off Accrual + Rollover PlanCommitment matters to Vultr!
