[Remote] Legal Counsel

They are seeking a Legal Counsel to support commercial contracting, data/privacy matters, and legal operational processes across the business, driving timely and effective legal support for global sales and customer-facing activities.ResponsibilitiesDraft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including SaaS subscription agreements, MSAs, and DPAsAssist with supplier and customer contracting, working under guidance from senior legal team membersEnsure agreements align with LawVu’s commercial objectives, product offering, and risk profileTake end-to-end ownership of negotiations on enterprise-level customer contractsBalance legal risk with commercial outcomes, proposing pragmatic options and trade-offsJoin customer calls and meetings to support Sales and Customer Success in landing key dealsSupport developing and maintaining negotiation playbooks and fallback positions for key clausesAdvise on intellectual property ownership and licensing, including software, content, know-how and trade secretsProvide guidance on privacy and data protection requirements in a SaaS context, including cross-border data transfers and data processing arrangementsOwn and continuously improve customer-facing templates and online termsDraft in plain, modern language that is clear for both internal stakeholders and customersKeep templates aligned with product roadmap, security posture, market practice and regulatory changesDevelop a deep understanding of our SaaS product and emerging technologies provisioned by LawVuManage a high and varied workload, often under time pressure and with competing prioritiesWork autonomously on day-to-day matters, while knowing when to seek input or escalateHelp refine and streamline ways of working so the legal team can support growth at scaleBuild strong relationships with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Security, Finance and other stakeholdersBe seen as a problem-solver who helps the business get to 'yes' safely, not a blockerProvide concise, solution-oriented advice to non-lawyers, tailored to different audiencesExercise sound legal judgement and take clear ownership of issues from start to finishImprove and maintain contracting processes and legal operationsContribute to broader legal and compliance initiatives, such as policy development, internal training and risk managementSkillsQualified lawyer with a current practising certificate (or equivalent)5+ years of PQE in gained in a reputable law firm and in-house environmentExperience in commercial contracting—preferably involving technology or SaaS—or a strong interest in building capability in this areaInterest or exposure to privacy/data protection issuesExperience with in‑house legal operations or contract operations is a plusStrong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teamsA practical, solutions‑oriented mindset with willingness to learn and growBenefitsEquity participationComprehensive health benefitsProfessional development budgetFlexible work arrangementsLeadership coachingCompany OverviewCreate better business outcomes with the Legal Workspace for in-house legal teams.
