Remote Legal Assistant

Description:

Works under the direction of the Managing Attorney performing complex legal research; preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc.; reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation. Responsibilities may include acting as primary interface with trial attorneys, experts, and other client staff.

Desired Skills:
Ā• Leadership experience on multiple litigation support teams for trial preparation.
Ā• significant prior courtroom experience (managing courtroom presentations, using courtroom technology)
Ā• Prior experience preparing witnesses for trial testimonies
Ā• Coursework and experience in law and health care
Ā• Understanding of the different parts of Medicare and Medicaid; billing system
Ā• Ability to perform quality control analysis and report any issues with data
Ā• Ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
Ā• Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform tasks accurately and quickly
Ā• Customer-focused, congenial, professional attitude for working on-site with government clients
Ā• eDiscovery experience and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks similar to the duties and responsibilities described

Qualifications:

Must have at least two to three years of progressively more responsible experience on litigation support projects including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys. Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw. Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging. Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $8.00 - $15.00 per hour
