The role involves delivering next-generation network infrastructure and optimizing network performance while collaborating with various leaders across the enterprise.ResponsibilitiesPartnering with internal and external business groups to develop technical solutions to meet business objectivesNetwork fabric for the internal Data Centers / Private Cloud platforms supporting multiple software defined network overlay technologiesPlanning, designing, and deploying new LAN/WAN network infrastructure and connectivityOverseeing and performing administration, configuration, and monitoring of all network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, VPN concentrators, etc.)Support the elimination of existing datacenter dependencies to enable cloud/fastest-path accessEnd-point device connectivity architecture & implementationsRemote site and campus network technology to support SD-WAN implementationsInternal company wireless connectivityWAN circuit topology and telco/carrier technical integrationL4 Troubleshooting & resolving network issues and outagesDefine, documenting, and enforcing network standardsIncreasing knowledge by participating in educational opportunitiesTeam mentorship and supportManage vendors and service providers encompassing but not limited to negotiations, licensing, adherence to service level agreements, and ensuring all support and maintenance contracts and services are up-to-date and providing appropriate coverageObsolescence - Work to consolidate or replace legacy technologies with newer services, hardware and applications that drive continuous improvement and mitigate cybersecurity and resiliency risksSupport the management of Network OpEx budget and make recommendations for future budget forecasting and planning needsCommunicate status updates to Manager of IT and other Senior business leaders where necessaryResearch and recommend new technologies and solutions to meet business needsDesign for new solutionsStandard solution configurationTechnology roadmap development, management, and maintenanceDocumenting and updating all network infrastructure and supported business processesCapacity and performance planningIntegration with related infrastructure engineering effortsAlignment and integration with information security requirementsDefinition and development of operational KPIs and metricsDisaster recovery/business continuity integrationContinuous knowledge and skills improvementAssist in motivating and growing the Network Engineering team to its next level of maturity, agility (NetDevOps) and scalability.
