The role involves performing thermal-hydraulic safety analysis for Boiling Water Reactor plants and requires collaboration with various teams to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory standards.ResponsibilitiesPerform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses in the areas of ECCS LOCA, Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analysesGeneral expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniquesTake responsibility for fuel project activities including reload analyses, methods implementation, power uprates, new fuel introductions, and safety analysis support for emergent fuel issuesPerform in cross-disciplinary settings, engaged with interfacing teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, or other affiliated organizations to find optimum customer solutionsPrepare, document and present technical data to internal/external customersProvide technical mentoring to support team development and knowledge management, including procedure development and adherenceDevelop/deliver training course offerings in support of external commercial requests, as well as for internal audiences for knowledge management, and knowledge capture and transferLead team process improvements to drive speed and simplificationEnsure work is performed with high quality in accordance with regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standardsSkillsBachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or universityMinimum 3 years of experience in T-H Nuclear Plant Safety AnalysisExperience in ECCS LOCA, Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and Reactor Internals Pressure Difference analysesM.S. Degree in Nuclear Engineering with experience in T/H modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systemsExperience with BWR technology ECCS LOCA and Containment analysis to support applicable regulatory requirementsKnowledge of reactor licensing requirementsExperience with BWR/PWR T-H systems codes such as TRACG, RELAP & TRACEExperience in Best Estimate methodology development (e.g., TRACG LOCA)Experience with Best Estimate and CSAU applicationsProgramming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHONDemonstrated high energy and the ability to energize othersHonest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrityWork easily and communicate effectively within a team environmentSeeks simple solutions to complex problemsDetail oriented and accountable for completion of work and assignmentsClearly and confidently communicates based on deep understandingCommunicates in an open, candid, clear, and consistent mannerLegacy of delivering on commitments; tenacious, with a proven track record of overcoming obstacles.
