[Remote] Journeyman Marine Propulsion Engineer

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Journeyman Marine Propulsion Engineer to provide comprehensive lifecycle engineering support to the USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center. The role involves assisting in the design, development, and evaluation of marine vessels and related equipment to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with mission requirements.ResponsibilitiesAssist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as propulsion systems & power generation systemsSupport the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and componentsPerform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phasesConduct analyses of propulsion systems and types, lead development of technical data packages and reviewsConduct trade studies regarding ship configurationConduct marine engineering analysisCreate graphical representations of structures and systemsInspect equipment or systemsAssist in research of advanced engineering designs or applicationsPrepare technical reports for internal useSkillsBachelor's Degree in EngineeringAbility to obtain a secret clearanceAt least 3+ years of experience in marine specific fields (i.e. propulsion systems, power-generation systems, fluids and hydraulics)Experience with GE LM2500 or MTU Engines/GeneratorsBenefitsHealthcare benefitsPaid leaveRetirement plansInsurance programsEducation and training assistanceCompany OverviewAMERICAN SYSTEMS is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the US.
