They are seeking an IS Security Operations Analyst to monitor their computer network for potential security threats and to work with experienced security team leaders to detect and limit intrusions. The role requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work in a 24x7x365 SOC environment.ResponsibilitiesPerforms network security monitoring and incident responseMaintains records of security monitoring and incident response activities, utilizing case management and ticketing technologiesMonitors and analyzes Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) to identify security issues for remediationFacilitates the day-to-day operation of the infrastructure and maintains proper levels of system and data availabilityProvides installation and support of the technology infrastructureInstalls and maintains technology related devicesCoordinates multiple projects including personnel and resource coordination, documentation and management reportingProvides Level III Network Server and Infrastructure Support and coordinates and schedules activities with PC Support staffDevelops and promotes the use of standards, policies and procedures governing use and management of technology systemsParticipates in training, professional development and quality improvement activitiesOther related duties as requiredSkillsHigh School diploma or equivalent0-2 years IT experience with Bachelor's degree OR 2-4 years IT experience with Associate's degree OR relevant experienceFundamental understanding of computer networking (TCP/IP)Security-relevant knowledge and experience (security operations, security configuration and deployment models, threat detection / response, incident detection / response, investigations, forensics)Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and mobile operating systemsMust be able to translate complex security-related matters into business terms that are readily understood by colleaguesMust have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of informationEffective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionallyMust be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboardStrong interpersonal skillsProficiency working with databases, on-line solutions and programming languagesAnalytical skills and logical thought processes in order to formulate solutions to problemsAbility to work under stressful situations so that communications with users, IS staff, and vendors continue to be objective and professional at all timesAbility to work with frequent interruptions and frequent changes in prioritiesMove through the hospital and off campus sitesAbility for occasional out of town travelFlexible scheduling such as working nights, weekends, extended shifts, etcDegree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber security, or related fieldSANS GIAC / ISC2 CISSIP or other advanced security certifications, ITIL2 years of experience related to IS Security/ Cyber securityCompany OverviewOchsner Health is the leading nonprofit healthcare provider in Louisiana, Mississippi and across the Gulf South, delivering expert care at its 47 hospitals and more than 370 health and urgent care centers.
