Financial Controller Requirements & Qualifications
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
ā¢ 8+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, including at least 2ā3 years in a Controller or senior finance role.
ā¢ Experience managing financial operations across multiple entities; international (US/UK) experience strongly preferred. 25% Travel
ā¢ Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls .
ā¢ Proficiency with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
ā¢ Experience with inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing or operational setting.
ā¢ Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed environment.
ā¢ CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
Financial Controller Preferred Background & Skills
ā¢ Experience in manufacturing, automation, or life sciences industries.
ā¢ Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Financial Controller Day-to-Day Responsibilities
ā¢ Oversee accounting operations for US and UK entities, including general ledger, AP/AR, inventory, and cost accounting.
ā¢ Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
ā¢ Lead budget development, rolling forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making.
ā¢ Administer ERP system usage and maintain data governance standards across entities.
ā¢ Establish and enforce strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and UK regulations.
ā¢ Mentor and support finance staff while collaborating closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.
ā¢ Coordinate remote financial operations and reporting with teams in multiple time zones.
