The role involves managing various human resources functions and processes to support the firm's legal professionals and staff while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.ResponsibilitiesServe as an active member of the Leadership Team and participate in weekly L10 meetingsDevelop and execute strategies aligned with the firm's vision and objectivesLead, manage, and hold accountable the HR, Recruitment, and Training & Development teamsProvide weekly updates to management on priorities, goals, progress, and key initiativesDevelop and maintain talent acquisition strategies and candidate pipelinesOversee recruitment efforts and participate in HR, recruiting, and community eventsEvaluate new hires early in their employment to ensure the right person is in the right roleDevelop compensation structures and pay bandsSupport and manage the 30-60-90-day performance review processCollaborate with supervisors and leadership to set goals, conduct evaluations, and provide employee feedbackAssist in developing performance improvement plans for underperforming team membersPartner closely with the Training & Development Manager to enhance employee growth and developmentCoordinate new hire start dates with recruitersManage onboarding communications, including welcome emails and role-specific onboarding plansOversee employee terminations and offboarding processes in a legal, ethical, and professional mannerConduct exit interviews and provide feedback to ownership and leadership teamsEnsure completion of termination documentation, employment verifications, unemployment claims, final pay, benefits processing, and other separation requirementsManage employee system access, subscriptions, and account deactivationMaintain HR records, training documentation, employee evaluations, and organizational chartsOrganize and manage HR files and documentation within Google DriveEnsure compliance with company policies and employment regulationsManage confidential HR reports, claims, and personnel documentationFacilitate effective communication across the organizationCoordinate company announcements, policy updates, and firm-wide communicationsOrganize employee engagement activities, team-building events, holiday celebrations, birthdays, and work anniversariesFoster trust, collaboration, and a positive workplace cultureReview attendance, scheduling, and shift discrepancies for hourly and contract employeesCoordinate payroll-related processes with the HR team and supervisorsTrack attendance and timekeeping for payroll accuracyAdminister employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company benefitsSupport employees with benefits enrollment, questions, and issue resolutionSkillsProven working experience as HR Director or other HR rolesAbility to architect strategy along with leadership skillsExcellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skillsPrompt, reliable and highly organizedIT proficiency including ATS (Applicant Tracking System), Google Platform (G-Drive, G-Chat, G-docs, G-meet, G-sheet), Zoom, Drop BoxHandles calls, messages, emails, meetings & speaking with people within/out of the company in the HR settingCommunicates in detail of goals, tasks and challenges in order to support the company hiring and HR needsLeadership, cross-functional teamwork, and exemplary dedication to the Vergara Miller Law Firm's core value statementInitiative, a strong work ethic, and keen attention to detailManage various human resources functions and processes to support the firm's legal professionals and staffEnsure that the firm's workforce is effectively managed, engaged, and compliant with relevant laws and regulationsBilingual English/Spanish preferredBenefitsHealth insuranceRetirement plansOther company benefitsBenefits enrollment, questions, and issue resolutionCompany OverviewVergara Miller Law Firm is a law firm that provides a wide range of legal services.
