Remote HPC & Bioinformatics DevOps Engineer

Job Title: HPC Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS & Bioinformatics) Location: Remote Industry: Pharmaceutical JOB DESCRIPTION: Theoris is seeking a highly skilled HPC Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and support a critical project involving high-performance computing workloads in AWS. This role requires deep expertise in AWS ParallelCluster, Slurm, and Linux systems, with a strong focus on performance tuning, automation, and infrastructure as code. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Design, deploy, and manage AWS ParallelCluster environments. • Administer and optimize Slurm workload manager for HPC clusters. • Troubleshoot and maintain Linux-based systems in a cloud-native environment. • Implement infrastructure using Terraform and other IaC tools. • Work with AWS services including EC2, FSx, S3, IAM, and related components. • Conduct performance tuning and automate operational tasks for HPC workloads. REQUIREMENTS: • Experience with Nextflow or other workflow orchestration tools. • Familiarity with bioinformatics pipelines and scientific computing. • Programming skills in Python and/or R. • Experience with containerization tools like Docker, Singularity, and environment managers like Conda or renv. • Proven experience in HPC environments, especially in cloud-based setups. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, technical team. • Passion for automation, performance optimization, and scientific computing.
