They are seeking a Financial Aid Systems & Operations Analyst to support the administration and optimization of financial aid systems, ensuring compliance and operational accuracy across various programs.ResponsibilitiesAdminister and coordinate the Banner Financial Aid module, including system configuration, implementation, testing, documentation, and trainingCoordinate annual aid-year setup processes, including roll procedures, parameter updates, table configuration, and system validation for regulatory complianceManage financial aid system operations, including electronic data loads, file transmissions, and data exchanges with the U.S. Department of Education, state agencies, and other external partners – Configure, test, run, and support automated and manual financial aid packaging processes within Banner, ensuring awarding methodologies align with institutional policy, federal regulations, and enrollment management objectivesServe as the primary functional subject matter expert for Banner Financial Aid and related ERP platforms, supporting system functionality, optimization, and complianceMonitor, research, and implement system updates, including Banner releases, regulatory changes, patches, and enhancementsCollaborate with Information Technology on system integrations, job scheduling, automation workflows, and enterprise process improvementsDiagnose and resolve system issues in partnership with IT staff and external vendors to ensure continuity of operationsMaintain data integrity across financial aid systems, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actionsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations through system configuration and operational controlsDevelop, maintain, and distribute operational, management, and compliance reports using Banner, Argos, and related reporting toolsSupport internal audits, program reviews, reconciliations, and compliance monitoring activitiesDevelop and maintain system documentation, procedural guides, and updates to the Financial Aid Policy and Procedure ManualSkillsBachelor's degree requiredMinimum of three (3) years of relevant experienceExperience with Ellucian Banner or comparable higher education ERPDemonstrated experience with system configuration, troubleshooting, and process automationAbility to manage multiple priorities in a complex regulatory and technical environmentMaintain knowledge and proficiency with technological skills required for performance of general and program specific duties used for the administration of financial aidMaintain knowledge and proficiency of federal, state and institutional aid programs, including compliance and regulations through participation in training seminars, webinars and attendance at conferencesProficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) proficiencyKnowledge and ability with large data base systems, e.g. Banner SevisExcellent organizational skillsMust maintain highest levels of accuracy and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communications skillsThe ability to multi-task in a fast paced environmentKnowledge of common office procedures including telephone etiquetteThe ability to uphold human dignity and respect by recognizing each person's worth, valuing diverse perspectives, and treating others with kindness, fairness, and empathyMust be able to respect, support and contribute to the University's Catholic and Jesuit missionMaster's degree preferredExperience with Ellucian Banner Financial AidStrong understanding of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and processesExperience with data reporting tools (e.g., Argos, SQL, or equivalent reporting platforms)Company OverviewThe Department of Communication & Media at the University of Scranton offer majors in Advertising/Public Relations, Business Communication, Communication, Journalism and Electronic Media, and Social Media Strategies.
