[Remote] Finance Specialist (WA/OR)

They are seeking a Finance Specialist to provide specialized financial management services, including accounting, budgeting, reporting, and private award administration, while ensuring compliance with TNC policies and financial standards.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate multiple projects and deliverable outcomes on a timely basisPrepare and monitor budgets, financial reports and communicate financial information to project staffPrepare journal entries and other financial transactionsMaintain BU financial data, including journal entries, adjustments, and project recordsResearch transactions, prepare ad hoc reports, and identify follow-up actions as neededFinancial reporting and administration of private awardsState and local tax filings, as neededReporting and compliance/tax for related entities (LLCs), if applicableEnsuring programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed for complianceBack-up support for accounts payable and accounts receivableSkillsBachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and 3 years' related experience or equivalent combinationExperience manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting dataExperience with accounting/financial issues and analysisExperience using accounting and financial reporting systems, Workday preferredAdvanced expertise in Microsoft ExcelExperience with GAAP and fund accounting principles, practices and regulations and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IRFS) (Canada)Experience organizing time and managing diverse activities to meet deadlinesCommitment to equity and inclusion in both work and workplace; being respectful of differences of identity and/or beliefs and successfully work across those differences to meet work objectivesNon-profit accounting experienceExperience with The Nature Conservancy's policies, procedures, and financial systemsMulti-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciatedStrong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detailAbility to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasksExperience using technology to achieve desired resultsBenefitsHealth care benefitsFlexible spending accountsA 401(k) plan with an 8% employer matchParental leaveAccrued paid time offLife insuranceDisability coverageEmployee assistance programOther life and work well-being benefitsFlexible work environment that supports of the health and well-being of the people we employCompany OverviewThe Nature Conservancy is a non-profit conservation organization that works to protect terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecosystems.
