Interns will research population health principles to build solutions. This will require understanding and knowledge of the healthcare industry
and socioeconomic issues to evaluate care management programs, identify inefficiencies and correct processes. Interns will propose new
solutions that incorporate clinical quality and operations efficiency.
Majors: Master's in public health
The Summer Internship Program at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield is a key source for identifying, attracting and developing future talent within our company. We are seeking self-motivated candidates who possess a strong technical aptitude, keen analytical, problem-solving ability, excellent communication skills, and leadership skills.
This program is a great way to gain a head start on your career by working on meaningful projects, learning valuable skills, connecting with employees and managers throughout the company, and potentially building a future career at the company. Through hands-on relevant work experience, the internship program will allow the student or graduate to learn the business of Arkansas Blue Cross.
Interns will receive professional coaching and participate in team building exercises. Weekly leadership forums are required where the intern will participate in open discussions regarding the corporate business and culture.
Full-time Arkansas BlueCross BlueShield employees are not eligible for internships. Reference letters are not requiered.
Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Intern I
Sophomore year in college (At least 30 credit hours but fewer than 60 credit hours).
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
A minimum of 6.0 college credit hours in one of the requested disciplines.
Intern must live in Springdale, Arkansas during the internship program.
Intern II
Junior year in college (At least 60 credit hours but fewer than 90 credit hours).
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
A minimum of 12.0 college credit hours in one of the requested disciplines.
Intern must live in Springdale, Arkansas during the internship program.
Intern III
Senior year in college (At least 90 credit hours).
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
A minimum of 18.0 college credit hours in one of the requested disciplines.
Intern must live in Springdale, Arkansas during the internship program.
Intern IV
Bachelors degree in requested discipline or a related degree if applicable
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Intern must live in Springdale, Arkansas during the internship program.
