[Remote] Fall 2026 Legal Intern, State Supreme Court Initiative
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The ACLU is seeking a Fall Legal Intern for the State Supreme Court Initiative in their National office. The intern will be responsible for research and writing projects related to litigation in state supreme courts, including drafting legal documents and conducting research.ResponsibilitiesDraft memoranda, motions, and portions of briefsConduct legal and factual research concerning issues and cases in multiple state supreme courtsTrack cases and issues of interest to the SSCICenter principles of equity, inclusion, and belonging in all work, embedding the values in program development, policy application, and organizational practices and processesSkillsCurrently matriculated legal students based in the U.S. for the entire duration of the internshipCompleted at least one year of law school before the internship commencesExcellent research skills, including by conducting internet searches and using Westlaw, PACER, and other law-related databasesExcellent communication skills, both oral and in writing, and both in-person and via teleconferencing servicesAttention to detail, organization, time management, and deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteCompany OverviewThe ACLU is an non-profit, non-partisan organization of people who believe in the power of action.
