They are seeking a Strategic Account Executive who will build relationships with key decision makers at school districts, employing solution-based selling techniques to secure agreements that bring Newsela’s products into classrooms.ResponsibilitiesEmploy solution-based selling techniques and solution mapping, along with strong negotiation and closing skills, to ensure school board preparation and approvalCreate and maintain an aggressive pipeline, and build and adjust strategic account plans for key accounts to move each through the sales cycleHandle day-to-day responsibilities spanning everything from pipeline creation, pipeline management, and forecasting to designing lead generation campaigns and managing sales through the entire lifecycle while collaborating closely with other departmentsHave direct, regular exposure to our executive leadership team during meetings to discuss specific deal strategies, introduce industry trends, and build support for district-specific initiativesWork with a highly skilled team dedicated to supporting you and your book of business, alongside extensive support from our Learning & Enablement teamAchieve revenue targets while collaborating with an enthusiastic, cross-functional team to catapult Newsela’s growth as we scale our national sales organizationThrive in a role that requires significant autonomy, representing the company in the market, making recommendations that impact strategy and results, and managing priorities independentlyStay well-versed in the territory’s funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape to help inform the overall sales strategyExercise discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance, including evaluating customer needs, structuring tailored solutions, negotiating within established guidelines, and influencing revenue and business outcomesSkillsProven Account Executive with 2+ years of demonstrated success selling supplemental products to school districts in the K12 market requiredWilling to build your own book of business and have extensive experience in networking, prospecting, and building a pipelineWell-versed in MEDDPICC sales methodologyProven success forecasting business in the EdTech industryExcited about the opportunity to connect face-to-face as this position involves regular travel to meet with customers and prospectsExperiencing using AI tools to drive greater efficiency and productivityLegally authorized to work in the USBenefitsComprehensive medical benefits with employer contribution to premiums and to HSA accounts.Additional benefits such as gym reimbursement, pet insurance, free access to the Calm app, Rocket Lawyer and more to help you stay healthy: mind, body, and soul.We are a fully remote company.
