As an Engineering Manager, you will lead the Homepage and Early Life team, focusing on delivering a best-in-class experience for users in the Fanatics App and driving engagement through personalized touchpoints.ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and technical expertise within your engineering verticalBuild and lead one or more teams delivering software while adhering to engineering best practicesClarify technical requirements, negotiate priorities, and manage projects to deliver on time via daily scrum activitiesClear or escalate blockers to accelerate delivery progressWork closely with Product and Design partners to create an ambitious, achievable roadmap communicable to executives and stakeholdersDrive reliable and predictable team execution by setting clear objectives and using data and KPIs to champion continuous improvementProvide clear updates (KPIs, status, metrics) to executive audience and key stakeholdersHelp recruit, assess, and onboard a diverse group of talented engineersOpen to occasional travel to Fanatics offices and other locationsSkills1+ years of experience managing an engineering team4+ years of experience building highly scalable and fault-tolerant systemsKnowledge of a broad range of design approaches; ability to deconstruct architecture across teamsAble to scope projects with targeted dates to meet business needsSkilled at discerning essential features vs. those that can be triaged or omittedEffective communicator of complex technical subjects to varied audiencesFamiliar with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodologyExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsThrives in an entrepreneurial, hyper-growth environment where priorities evolve regularlyTeam-first mentality with a willingness to do what it takes to get the job doneExperience working in a start-up environmentExperience with personalization and recommendation-focused productsComfortable working with AppsFlyer and similar technologies for top-of-funnel user acquisition metricsCompany OverviewFanatics is a global sports platform reimagining the fan experience across gear, trading cards, sports betting, content, events, and more.
