[Remote] Employer Reporting Analyst (Texas Residents)

The Teacher Retirement System of Texas is dedicated to providing excellent service to its members and is seeking an Employer Reporting Analyst. This role involves providing technical and customer support for Texas public education employers, analyzing reports, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with TRS laws and rules.ResponsibilitiesResponds to complex telephone and written inquiries from reporting employers and agency members regarding TRS laws, rules, policies, procedures, forms and processes; answers questions and resolves problems or forwards inquiries to appropriate agency staffTroubleshoots file transmission issues, identifies processing problems/errors, and effectively communicates resolutions, both orally and in writing, to reporting employersDetermines the basis for reporting errors, identifies error patterns and trends, and provides training to reporting employer staff to prevent reoccurrenceInterprets and explains TRS laws and rules to enforce electronic reporting requirementsAssists in analyzing the impact of new and proposed legislation on Benefit Accounting programs and operations, and in developing recommendations for future legislationPerforms detailed, technical review of demographic, payroll, and employment after retirement reports from reporting employers throughout the state for accuracy of computations, contribution data, and demographic informationReviews complex report adjustments submitted by reporting employers and determines appropriate action. Assists reporting employers with reconciling out-of-balance reports and ledger transactionsMonitors monthly report submission for assigned reporting employers and pursues delinquent reports and/or depositsTravels to meeting sites throughout the state by car and commercial aircraft to conduct training presentationsCoordinates meeting logistics, such as delivery and set-up of audio/visual and computer equipment, handouts and other presentation materialsPerforms related work as assignedSkillsHigh school diploma or GEDThree (3) years of full-time directly related, progressively responsible experience in electronic reporting, banking, accounting, claims processing, benefit processing, or a customer-service related position involving communicating laws, regulations, and policies or related experienceExcellent customer service, attention to detail, critical thinking and research skillsAbility to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, agency staff, and external contactsAbility to travel occasionally for work assignments and trainingAbility to work effectively in a professional team environmentAssociate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or universityExperience working with financial systems and communicating complex technical informationBenefitsCoaching and mentorshipThis position is remote, but selected candidate must reside in Texas and will be required to report to Austin for New Employee Orientation.Travels to meeting sites throughout the state by car and commercial aircraft to conduct training presentations.Company OverviewThe Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) is responsible for investing funds under its stewardship and for delivering benefits to members as authorized by the Texas Legislature.
