[Remote] Electrical Design Engineer

The Electrical Design Engineer role involves designing and developing electrical systems for EV charging infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with codes and collaborating with various teams to deliver effective designs.ResponsibilitiesCreate and review electrical drawings, one-lines, and schematics, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and safety requirementsPerform load calculations, power distribution studies, and site evaluations to support optimal placement and sizing of EV charging equipmentCollaborate closely with project managers, field installers, product teams, and external partners to translate client requirements into practical, cost-effective designsPrepare technical documentation, support permitting and inspections, review submittals, and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and best practices within COIL’s Unified PlatformSkillsStrong foundation in Electrical Engineering, with applied knowledge of Electricity and power systemsProficiency in Electrical Design and Design Engineering for infrastructure or building systemsExperience with Power Distribution design, including panel schedules, load calculations, and circuitingFamiliarity with relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, local AHJ requirements) and permitting processesBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline; advanced degree or EIT/PE licensure is a plusExperience with EV charging, renewable energy, or related electrical infrastructure is highly beneficialAbility to use CAD or electrical design software and collaborate effectively with remote, cross-functional teamsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills, with attention to accuracy and safetyCompany OverviewCoil manufacture, supply, and install EV chargers, home battery backup systems, and electric IoT devices to various properties.
