They are seeking an experienced Director of Project Controls and Finance to manage project execution, capital deployment, and financial reporting for utility-scale solar projects.ResponsibilitiesBuilding and maintaining the project budgetTracking actual spend vs. forecastMonitoring EPC costs, interconnection costs, equipment procurement, contingencies, and soft costsManaging draw schedules and cash flow timingIdentifying cost overruns and financial risks earlyWorking with lenders, tax equity investors, sponsors, and legal teamsManaging construction loan draws and compliance requirementsCoordinating diligence materials for financing partiesTracking covenants, reporting obligations, and milestone requirementsSupporting financial close processesReviewing EPC invoices and payment applicationsCoordinating approvals for vendor paymentsEnsuring invoices align with contract terms and completed milestonesManaging change orders from a financial perspectiveAligning construction progress with capital deployment timelinesMaking sure procurement, construction, and financing timelines stay synchronizedUpdating financial models based on schedule changes or delaysProducing reports for executives, lenders, investors, and development partnersTracking KPIs such as: budget variance, burn rate, contingency usage, schedule adherence, projected COD (Commercial Operation Date)Participating in project meetings with development, engineering, EPC, and finance teamsIdentifying risks that could impact project economics: tariff changes, supply chain delays, labor shortages, interconnection delays, permitting issuesModeling financial impacts and mitigation strategiesSkillsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field required7–12+ years of experience in renewable energy finance, infrastructure finance, project finance, private equity, investment banking, asset management, or a related fieldDemonstrated experience supporting utility-scale solar and/or renewable energy projects through development, construction, financing, and operational phasesStrong understanding of tax equity structures, including partnership flip structures, sale-leasebacks, and transferability considerationsDeep familiarity with ITC/PTC qualification requirements, safe harbor rules, prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements, and other renewable energy incentive frameworksExperience managing construction financing processes, including debt draw requests, lender compliance, project budgets, sources and uses, and financial reportingStrong financial modeling and analytical capabilities, including experience with project finance models, portfolio reporting, and acquisition underwritingExperience coordinating across multiple stakeholders, including developers, EPC contractors, lenders, investors, procurement teams, legal counsel, accounting, and treasury functionsExceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentAdvanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools; familiarity with ERP systems, project controls software, and data visualization tools is a plusStrong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing materials for lenders, investors, executives, and investment committeesHighly detail-oriented with strong commercial judgment and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to operate both strategically and tactically in a growing, entrepreneurial environmentMBA, CFA, CPA, or other advanced financial designation preferredBenefitsSalary plus performance-based bonusCompetitive healthcare, dental, and 401(K) matching packageCompany OverviewCoquí Power LLC (“Coquí Power”) is a Puerto Rico-based development, operations, and maintenance firm focused on electric power infrastructure.
