Goodrich Human Capital is a leading HVAC provider in the Northeast seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial Director of Business Development to drive the growth of its commercial HVAC and electrification business. This role will lead commercial sales, strategic partnerships, and project execution, owning the full lifecycle from business development through installation and project completion.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute strategies to grow commercial HVAC and electrification revenue throughout the NortheastBuild relationships with general contractors, developers, property owners, engineers, consultants, property managers, and public-sector stakeholdersDrive the full sales cycle, including prospecting, bidding, proposal development, contract negotiation, and closingExpand market presence across multifamily, mixed-use, office, public housing, and other commercial sectorsEstablish scalable processes, reporting, and performance metrics to support long-term growthDevelop and manage relationships with utility companies, energy-efficiency program administrators, and related stakeholdersPosition the company as a preferred implementation partner for electrification, decarbonization, and energy-efficiency initiativesIdentify and pursue opportunities tied to utility incentives, rebate programs, and public funding initiativesEnsure compliance with program requirements and contractor standardsOversee commercial projects from initial bid through final installation and closeoutLead project planning, scheduling, staffing, subcontractor coordination, material readiness, and customer communicationManage project budgets, schedules, change orders, and execution risks to ensure profitable deliveryMonitor project milestones, labor utilization, quality standards, and customer satisfactionProvide leadership on major commercial job sites, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to scopeCoordinate field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to meet schedule, quality, and budget objectivesEnsure compliance with safety standards, codes, permits, and inspection requirementsResolve field issues and drive successful project turnover and closeoutImplement best practices for commercial project execution and quality controlSkills10+ years of experience in commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, building systems, or commercial constructionProven success developing commercial business and securing large-scale projects in the HVAC industryExperience selling and/or managing commercial HVAC, heat pump, electrification, or related mechanical solutionsStrong background in commercial estimating, bidding, project management, and installation oversightDemonstrated ability to balance business development, operations, project management, and field leadershipStrong understanding of commercial construction processes, project scheduling, and subcontractor managementExcellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsWillingness to travel throughout the Northeast and maintain a significant field presenceExperience working with utility-sponsored energy-efficiency or electrification programsCompany OverviewGoodrich Human Capital specializes in connecting exceptional managerial and executive level talent to remarkable career opportunities.
