They are hiring a Director of Business Development to generate new revenue by identifying opportunities, building relationships, and securing new clients, while managing the business development pipeline and aligning sales efforts with company goals.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute business development strategies to achieve company growth goals and revenue targetsOwn the full sales lifecycle from initial prospecting, outreach, and networking through signed contractBuild and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities across target industries and client segmentsLead discovery conversations to understand client needs, challenges, and strategic opportunitiesRepresent BCom at conferences, networking events, and industry engagements to strengthen market visibility and generate qualified leadsMonitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities to continuously refine business development strategyLead proposal development, pitch presentations, and sales conversations from start to finishCollaborate with internal subject matter experts to design tailored recommendations, pricing, scopes of work, and contract documentationNegotiate scopes, pricing, and contract terms to ensure profitable, mutually beneficial agreementsEnsure a seamless transition from signed contract to account and delivery teamsMaintain and elevate BCom's proposal templates, pitch decks, and sales enablement materialsMaintain CRM accuracy and provide regular sales reporting, pipeline health metrics, and reliable revenue forecastsMonitor pipeline progression and sales performance metrics to ensure opportunities move efficiently through the funnelAnalyze the sales process to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements that increase win rates and efficiencyProvide business development insights and recommendations to the leadership teamPartner with executive leadership on revenue forecasting, growth planning, and market expansion opportunitiesCollaborate with internal teams to support the development of case studies, positioning materials, and sales collateralServe as a primary ambassador for BCom's mission, values, and service offerings in the marketSupport alignment between business development efforts and the capabilities of Revenue, Creative, and Operations teamsServe as the primary client liaison for key client accounts, building trusted, long-term relationshipsTranslate client goals into clear scopes of work and executional plans, anticipating needs and addressing issues proactivelyMonitor client satisfaction, track deliverables, and lead performance reviews backed by strategic insights and dataEnsure alignment between client expectations and internal team deliverySkills7 or more years of experience in business development, sales, client acquisition, or revenue generation within a marketing agency, consulting firm, communications firm, political organization, or related environmentExperience selling consulting or professional services to foundations, nonprofits, advocacy organizations, associations, chambers, or other mission-driven organizationsDemonstrated alignment with mission-driven work and organizationsDemonstrated success generating new business and closing high-value client engagementsExperience managing complex sales cycles from prospecting through contract executionExperience developing and managing sales pipelines and revenue forecastsStrong proposal development, presentation, negotiation, and closing skillsStrong understanding of marketing, communications, digital strategy, fundraising, advertising, or agency servicesStrong commercial acumen with the ability to identify growth opportunities,
