[Remote] Digital Transformation Consultant (Finance / Insurance)

The Planet Group is launching a multi-year digital transformation and is seeking a lead Digital Transformation Consultant with expertise in Finance and Insurance. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current state and develop a strategic transformation roadmap, while collaborating with leadership to align digital initiatives with business strategy. Responsibilities • Lead a deep-dive assessment of multiple business units to evaluate processes, systems, and overall digital maturity • Audit the end-to-end technology ecosystem, including legacy platforms, applications, data collection/storage, and infrastructure • Evaluate the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), delivery methodologies (Agile/DevOps), and governance to identify bottlenecks • Advise on the integration of AI solutions (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to enhance workflows, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making • Collaborate with leadership to define a long-term digital vision that aligns directly with our core business strategy • Design a multi-year roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on business value, technical feasibility, and risk • Build comprehensive financial models and budgets, defining the sequencing of investments and clear ROI metrics • Provide guidance on new operating models, governance, and change management to ensure the transformation is adopted and sustainable Skills • Deep FSI Expertise: Financial Services and Insurance. You must understand business operations, policy/claims lifecycles, and the regulatory/compliance landscape (e.g., FINRA, GDPR, NAIC) • Proven Transformation Leadership: Success in leading enterprise-wide business transformations, specifically the 'Phase 0' design of roadmaps for large-scale organizations • Hybrid Business/Technical Acumen: Strong business-first mindset (65%) with enough technical depth (35%) to vet SDLC, data architecture, and SaaS ecosystems • Advanced Financial Modeling: Demonstrated ability to model investments, plan complex sequencing, and articulate a clear ROI to a CFO or Board • AI Literacy: Familiarity with modern AI tools (Copilot, etc.) and how to apply them in a highly regulated environment • Executive Presence: Exceptional communication and presentation skills; the ability to explain complex technical concepts in plain business terms Company Overview • The Planet Group is a global advisory and staffing firm operating at the intersection of talent and transformation.
